Wow! I haven't posted in a while! I wanted to reflect on this past month. On November 17th my Dad got remarried to a woman named Mary Beth. They have been together for a few years and it is quite a blessing. My parents got divorced right as I was graduating high school and my Dad dated for a while before he met her. She is super sweet and she has two kids, Phillip and LeeAnn. They are a few years younger than me and still in college. I can't tell you what a relief it is to get along with everyone and for it to not be awkward. Here are a few pics from the wedding!

hey allison, sorry i am just getting back to you. i got into Event Planning because of working at my hotel. I LOVE it! I think it is fairly simple to get into, you just have to look for job openings!!! how are things going with you???
ok SERIOUSLY. Time for new blog content!!!!!
Allison and Dan,
The kitchen is fabulous. The wood selection and color of the cabinets is very rich and warm. The design of the layout-excellent. I especially like the cabinets going all the way to the ceiling and the neutral counter top. The door and drawer pulls are great. I like the choice of a pewter color to match the sink. It works great together.
Decoration comments-take what you can use and leave the rest...
-What about putting a built in sitting area under the big window in the kitchen where you currently have the table and chairs-a window seat area. You could use the same cabinets so it all matches and add storage there. Since it probably is a lower height than the counter under the windows, you could add doors or drawers or just open shelves, and put a long seat pad on top, something that coordinates with your new window treatments for the window above the sink. It would keep the seating you currently have, since people tend to gather in the kitchen along with adding storage and creating more of an open space feeling. Since you already have the dining area, you wouldn't be loosing functional eating area space. It would make the great window in there, more of a focal point.
-Colors? - warm tones to carry the warm feeling of the beautiful cabinets into the rest of the kitchen. Benjamin Moore sells a color palate of tones that comes from Pottery Barn. Beautiful colors. Whatever your preference is for colors, would be great. Wedgewood Gray (Blue), Saybrook Sage (Green), Hawthorne Yellow, Waterbury Cream. Anything would be beautiful.
-If you would want some help in making window treatments, place mats, napikins, window seat cover; that all coordinate between the kitchen and dining room, let me know. That is my passion. I just got done making floor to ceiling lined panels along with matching valences (coordinating pillows to come soon..) for our bedroom. I would love to come over and help. JoAnn Fabrics has a great selection of decorator fabrics that could coordinate with your paint color choice and make the room pop.
You two have done a great job on this project, and apparently are still speaking to each other! You work together beautifully. With that kind of teamwork, skill and good taste, your home is becoming more incredible every day!
I'm very proud of both of you!
Love, Mary Beth
